Artifacts

  • My Management Plan

Reflect

This artifact, My Management Plan, represents INTASC Standard 5.D.K. In this artifact I lay out a great majority of the different ways I plan to implement My Management Plan through the different aspects of my classroom and how different classroom management areas will be addressed. In this Plan I set out my rules and consequences, which both must be there to have any hope of setting up an effect management plan. I set up the content of what I will put in a guidebook for students and parents so I am building better relationships with both, along with a template of the news letter I will send out weekly to the parents to communicate to them more effectively. To give students more autonomy and more ownership in the class I go through different jobs I will give the students, how they are to implement those jobs, and how they will move their lunch magnets when they come in to show attendance. These are just a few of the many things in My Management Plan that will help me implement great classroom management and have great relationships with my classroom parents and students.

Project

This artifact is all about my future practice and all the things I will implement in my classroom to make sure it is well managed. From how to take role, to what is expected of children when they walk through to the door, to the rules and the consequences are all mapped out. I hear that two things are key to having a great first year of teaching great classroom management and differentiation. I have already addressed differentiation in Standard 4, so how about classroom management. My classroom management is all set up. I have the content worked out for the guidebook I will send home the first week of school. I have the ideal classroom set up with a map which I would prepare before meet the teacher night. I would set up classroom jobs with a classroom helper wheel, where you turn it every couple of weeks and get new helpers and star students. I have so much to contribute to my classroom management plan that will build better relationships with parents, students, and faculty. When parents see that I have everything planed out and will keep them informed and up to date on what is going on in their child’s life they will be willing to be a part of a team oriented to helping their children succeed in the classroom.
